SUPPLYING THE ESSENTIAL TRACE ELEMENTS
Why do our products contain four trace elements?
Inadequate trace element levels in livestock result in costly issues, so achieving the correct balance of the correct trace elements is vital for maximising performance. Our products contain the four essential trace elements; selenium, iodine, cobalt and if required copper, because most forages are commonly deficient in one or more of these.
Copper
Copper is needed for improved growth, and fertility, immune responses and cell function.
Cobalt
Cobalt is needed for improved growth and fertility, vigour and cell function, and healthy immune responses.
Selenium
Selenium is needed for improved growth and fertility, healthy immune responses, and better interaction with other cell functions – thyroid hormone.
Iodine
Iodine is needed for improved growth, fertility and cell function, and better vitality.
These trace elements
- Can be antagonised, bound or tied up by other minerals
- Can help maximise the benefits of forage which, cuts concentrate use and reduces production costs
- Save further costs and time, as trace element status and benefits pass from mother to offspring during pregnancy and in milk
- Interact with each other
- Are critical to helping animals thrive, and to maintain normal functions, particularly growth, immune responses and fertility
